SINGLE BARREL- 8yr 21% rye Green River
Tasting notes by Distillery Manager, Matt Bunch.
Nose - Deep stewed plums and Marachino cherries. Brown sugar. Buttered croissant. A confectionary powdered sugar. Wonderful sweet oak and barrel char, suggesting a nice age.
Palate - Strong, extract and potent. Lots of dark fruit and sugar up front. Strong notes of a doughy bread. Stewed berry return here, cherry, blackberry and plum. Balanced across the palate with a great mouthfeel.
Finish - Still strong. Light hints of the berry remain but barrel char and sweet oak are a stronger profile here. Stays lightly sugary for a good amount of time here as well.
